Jeff Dunn was raised around both Australian Stock Horses and Thoroughbreds, growing up in an environment where horses were part of everyday life. He was riding before he could walk, learning balance, feel, and respect for the animal from a very young age. For Jeff, horsemanship isn’t something learned later in life — it’s something ingrained.

Unlike many trainers, Jeff did not come through a traditional apprenticeship system under another racing stable. Instead, his education came from hands-on experience and learning directly from respected horsemen and women across different disciplines. From stock horse foundations to thoroughbred performance training, he developed a well-rounded understanding of how horses think, move, and respond.

That foundation has shaped his identity as a true horseman.

Jeff has built a reputation for improving tried horses — often taking horses that have already been through other systems and finding significant improvement. Through patience, structured conditioning, and a deep understanding of each horse as an individual, he consistently helps horses improve lengths on the track by strengthening both their bodies and their minds.
